Course Overview
This course is designed so that learners gain an awareness of how to identify the functions of a behaviour and their reinforcers. The course shows how Positive Behaviour Support approaches can help to minimise dysfunctional behaviours, whilst teaching and encouraging more appropriate behaviours in a positive and proactive manner.

On this course you will learn to:
– Describe Positive Behaviour Support
– Understand what the functions of behaviour are
– Identify the functions of a behaviour using the ABC observation tool
– Understand and identify what reinforces a particular behaviour
– Understanding of different ways of encouraging and teaching more appropriate behaviours

There is no written assessment for this course, formative assessments will take place throughout the course.
Course Qualification
Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a THTS certificate. There is no expiry date on this certificate, although we recommend that you refresh training every 2 years.
